On the territory of the Zhlobin district there is a republican landscape reserve "Smychok". Its purpose is to preserve in its natural state unique natural complexes with populations of rare and endangered species of plants and animals listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus. The "Bow" is located at the "junction" of two large rivers - at the confluence of the Berezina into the Dnieper. The total area of the reserve is 2635 hectares. The composition of the lands of the reserve "Smychok" includes lands located in the Zhlobin and Rechitsa districts of the Gomel region. On the territory of the reserve there are dozens of mammals, more than 20 insects, about 40 rare protected species of birds listed in the Red Book: black stork, small grebe, large and little vysh, mute swan, common goldeneye, common kestrel, hobby faggot, common kingfisher, common shad, a large oystercatcher, an oystercatcher and others. The modern river ichthyofauna of the Dnieper basin includes 38 species of fish.
